Base Metals Preview: COMEX copper recovers in early Asia and holds around $6.3 per pound mark
20-Jul-2026 | 09:00
COMEX copper is holding around $6.30 per pound mark in early Asia on Monday following a sharp slide to over one-week low last week. Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Monday, following the broadly negative cues from Wall Street on Friday, as traders remain cautious amid escalating geopolitical tension in the Middle East after the U.S.-Iran conflict grows wider, with the U.S. targeting Iran civil infrastructures. The related spike in crude oil prices also renewed global inflationary concerns. The Nasdaq on Friday tumbled 361.70 points or 1.4 percent to 25,520.24, the S&P 500 slumped 76.08 points or 1 percent to 7,457.69 and the Dow slid 406.55 points or 0.8 percent to 52,146.42.
