Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index rises 2.12%, NIFTY jumps 1.09%

Nifty Private Bank index closed up 2.12% at 28508.5 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Federal Bank Ltd gained 6.86%, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd rose 3.39% and ICICI Bank Ltd added 1.84%. The Nifty Private Bank index is up 2.00% over last one year compared to the 3.09% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index added 1.75% and Nifty Bank index gained 1.63% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.09% to close at 24334.3 while the SENSEX added 1.25% to close at 78151.45 today.
