Economic Buzz: Eurozone's industrial production down 0.2% in May

The seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.2% in the Eurozone and by 0.1% in the European Union in May, compared to the month prior, Eurostat revealed in its report on Wednesday. Year over year, industrial output declined by 1.2% in the euro area and by 0.3% in the EU.
On a monthly basis, production of capital goods, energy, and non-durable consumer goods in the Eurozone gained 0.3%, 2.2%, and 0.8%, respectively, while production of durable consumer goods and intermediate goods fell by 1.1% and 0.3%, respectively. In the EU, production of intermediate goods and durable consumer goods worsened by 0.1% and 0.4%, respectively, while production of energy, capital goods, and non-durable consumer goods saw a rise of 2%, 0.3%, and 0.6%, respectively.
