Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions hold at six-month high

Precious metals speculators increased their net long position in the Gold futures marginally, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totalled a net position of 194246 contracts in the data reported through July 7, 2026, rising by 227 contracts from the previous week. The net longs are holding around six-month high now.
