Commodities Buzz: WTI Crude oil net speculative longs slide to six-month low

Energy speculators continued to trim their net long positions in the crude oil futures market unchanged, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Crude oil futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net long position of 110531 contracts in the data reported through week ended June 30, 2026. This marked a weekly fall of 4102 contracts and pulled net longs to six-month low.
