Copper gains around 1%

COMEX Copper futures are up impressively today amid firm cues from equities and weakness in the US dollar. In Asia, China?s Shanghai Composite index added 0.37% while Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index soared 1.28%. Japan?s Nikkei 225 index also jumped 1.50%. European markets stayed supported in choppy moves ahead of weekend. Overnight on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average scaled to record highs on Thursday. DOW soared 1.14%, for a record close of 52,900.07. COMEX Copper futures are up 1% at $6.23 per pound.
