Economic Buzz: UK's GDP growth at 0.6% in Q1

The United Kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.6% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous quarter, the country's Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed in its report released on Tuesday. The figure matched the preliminary estimate and was in line with analysts' expectations.
The services output observed a 0.8% growth in the reported quarter, compared to the increase of 0.1% in the previous trimester. At the same time, production and construction grew by 0.2% in the three months to March 2026.
On an annual basis, the UK's GDP growth was revised down from the first estimate and stood at 1.3% in 2025.
