Commodties Buzz: NOAA announces El Nino has developed in tropical Pacific

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced El Nino has developed in the tropical Pacific after a prolonged period of above-average ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific. NOAA issued an El Ni?o advisory on Thursday and predicts that San Diego will experience some of the most significant impacts during the winter months. NOAA also forecasted a 63% chance of a ?super? El Ni?o developing. El Ni?o forms when temperatures in the Pacific near the equator stay above 0.5?C for several consecutive months.
