Agri Buzz: Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon

India Meteorological Department has stated that under the influence of western disturbance, wet spell likely over northwest India till 13th with possibility of thunderstorm with gusty winds (50-60 kmph) & hailstorm on 11th & 12th June, 2026. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall (7-20cm) very likely over and northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and heavy rainfall over Kerala, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu during next 5-7 days. Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu & southwest Bay of Bengal, some more parts of westcentral & northwest Bay of Bengal and West Bengal, some parts of Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand & Odisha during next 3-4 days.
