Economic Buzz: China's inflation unchanged at 1.2% in May

China's consumer price index (CPI) came in at 1.2% in May year-on-year, unchanged from the previous month's figure and slightly lower than expected, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Wednesday.

On a monthly basis, prices fell 0.1% compared to last month's 0.3% rise.

Meanwhile, the Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 3.9% year-on-year, exceeding forecasts slightly and coming in higher than last month's 2.8% rise.
