Natural Gas hits zooms above $3 per mmbtu mark

US natural gas futures hit around one and half month high as markets eyed media reports estimating warmer weather over the next two weeks. The benchmark Natural Gas futures rose more than 2% to break above $3 per mmbtu mark and currently trade up 1.10% at $3.05 per mmbtu. The counter has gained around 10% this month as long term demand trends supported the sentiments. The United States is set to witness record-breaking industrial natural gas consumption in the coming years. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) Short-Term Energy Outlook, industrial usage of natural gas averaged an unprecedented 23.6 billion cubic feet per day in 2025, surpassing previous records. In local markets, MCX Natural Gas futures moved up in early afternoon trades after falling near Rs 290 per mmbtu mark. The counter is up 0.85% at Rs 295 per mmbtu right now.
