Commodities Buzz: Silver net speculative long positions ease near two-year low

Precious metals speculators slightly cut their net long positions in the Silver futures markets last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 23892 contracts in the data reported through May 5, 2026. This was a weekly fall of 268 net contracts and kept net longs near two-year low.
