Economic Buzz: China's inflation up from 1% to 1.2% in April

China's consumer price index (CPI) climbed 1.2% in April year-on-year, up from the previous month's 1% rise and higher than expected, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday.

On a monthly basis, prices rose 0.3% compared to last month's 0.7% drop.

Meanwhile, the Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 2.8% year-on-year, exceeding forecasts and coming in higher than last month's 0.5% rise.
