Economic Buzz: US wholesale inventories up by 1.3% in March

Wholesale inventories in the United States increased by 1.3% in March compared to the revised February reading, reaching $932.8 billion, the Census Bureau said in its report published on Friday. Year-over-year, the figure was up by 2.9%.
Sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $772.2 billion, climbing 2.8% on a monthly basis and surging 10.9% on an annual basis.
The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.21, compared to 1.30 registered in March 2025.
