Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions slide to two-year low

Precious metals speculators cut their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 159571 contracts in the data reported through April 28, 2026, recording a fall of 4435 contracts from the previous week. The net longs have yet again slipped near 25-month low.
