World Bank has stated in its latest Commodity Markets Outlook that following strong gains in 2026Q1 amid extraordinary volatility, gold prices are projected to average $4,700 per troy ounce in 2026, up 37 percent from 2025. Overall, the precious metals price index is expected to increase by 42 percent in 2026 as gold, silver, and platinum prices all reach records. Further escalation of geopolitical tensions or uncertainty could lift precious metals prices even higher.
