Currency Buzz: US dollar index hits one and half week high

The US dollar index today, rising above 98 mark as risk aversion increased after Iran fired on three ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Equities turned lower in Asia and Europe and US dollar index is currently quoting at 98.52, up 0.10% on the day and hitting around one and half week high. The US currency is now rising steadily after falling over last two-weeks. Attention is now shifting to the US PMI data due later on today.
