Copper stable around $6.10 per pound

COMEX Copper futures stabilized around six-week high amid positive equities. The red metal currently quotes at $6.09 per pound, up marginally on the day. The counter has zoomed more than 3% this week amid hopes that US and Iran could return to the negotiating table with a view to ending the war soon. Today, in Asia, China's Shanghai Composite index rose 0.70% while Hong Kong?s Hang Seng spiked 1.72%. Japan?s Nikkei soared 2.38%. European stocks gained with major indices adding half a percent. The US stocks stayed well supported yesterday as the US benchmark S&P 500 and tech-heavy Nasdaq hit record closing highs.
