Economic Buzz: UK economy grows modestly in three months to February

According to the Office for National Statistics, the UK?s real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.5% in the three months to February 2026 compared to the three months to November 2025. This follows growth of 0.3% in the three months to January 2026 and no growth in the three months to December 2025.
Services output increased by 0.5%, after rising 0.3% in the three months to January 2026.
Production output grew by 1.2%, following a stronger increase of 1.7% in the previous three-month period to January 2026.
Construction output fell by 2.0%, continuing its decline after dropping 2.8% in both the three months to January 2026 and December 2025.
On a monthly basis, GDP rose by 0.5% in February 2026, after growing by 0.1% in both January 2026 and December 2025.
In February, services and production each grew by 0.5%, while construction output increased by 1.0%.
