Copper gains, MCX futures spike more than 1%

Copper futures saw good gains today, consolidating around two-week high as markets hopes for a ceasefire to the US-Iran war. The US dollar index stayed slippery and Copper moved up in tandem with other metals. COMEX Copper futures are currently trading at $5.67 per pound, up 1.70% on the day. MCX Copper futures are trading at Rs 1169.30 per kg, up 1.23% on the day after hitting a high above Rs 1170 per kg. Meanwhile, equities offered mixed cues. In Asia, China's Shanghai Composite index fell 1%. Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index dropped 0.70%. Japan?s Nikkei average rose 0.55%. Major European equity markets are closed for the Easter holiday today. The US stocks were mixed in last session. The DOW eased 0.13% while tech-heavy Nasdaq added 0.18%. S&P 500 index also saw modest gains.
