COMEX gold is staying below $4400 mark in early Asian trades but recovered considerably following a sharp slide of 3.6% yesterday to a four month low to $4100. The precious metal rebounds from a 2026 low near $4,100 after US President Donald Trump decided to back down from his threat to destroy Iran?s power infrastructure, reducing immediate inflation fears. Firmness in dollar overseas on inflationary concerns tracking soaring oil prices amid heightened Middle East tensions is weighing on the yellow metal. Currently, the counter is quoting at $4352 an ounce, down almost 1% on the day. Silver, meanwhile is down 2.7% at $67.19 an ounce.
