Copper falls more than 1%

COMEX Copper fell today, giving up gains seen in last session amid mixed equities. The red metal currently trades down 1.10% at $5.76 per pound. It rallied 1.30% in last session. The recent rise in LME Copper inventories and sustained selling pressure following a break under $6 per pound are keeping a tab on Copper prices. MCX Copper futures are trading at Rs 1176.60 per kg, down 0.40% on the day. Meanwhile, in Asia today, China's Shanghai Composite index fell 0.85%, adding to recent losses. Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index added 0.13%. Japan?s Nikkei average eased 0.09%. European stocks added around half a percent. The US stocks edged up amid a sharp slide in oil prices yesterday. The S&P 500 gained 1% - marking its biggest surge in five weeks. The Dow added 0.8%, and the Nasdaq composite jumped 1.2%.
