Copper gains around 1%

COMEX copper futures edged up by nearly 1% as three week lows capped losses despite cautious undertone in equities. The red metal is currently quoting higher by 0.95% on the day at $5.90 per pound amid a modest drop in the US dollar and supportive metal prices.
