Gold glitters, up around 10% this month

COMEX Gold soared today amid weakness in dollar overseas and sustained geopolitical risks. The counter is currently quoting at $5212 per ounce, up 0.69% on the day. Silver futures zoomed 3.80% at $90.86 per ounce. Chinese precious metals traders are back after the Lunar New year holidays and both metals are finding it highly supportive. Gold raced near $5270 per ounce in last session, hitting around three-week highs but eased thereafter. With a 10% surge this month so far, the yellow metal is on track replicate its performance in January when it had gained around 9%. MCX Gold futures are trading at Rs 161217 per 10 grams, up 0.78% on the day after hitting highs above Rs 161600 per 10 grams. The counter lost around 1% in last session.
