Economic Buzz: European new car registrations slide around 4% in Jan-26

Europe's new car registrations dropped for the first time in seven months in January, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association said Tuesday. New car sales saw an annual fall of 3.9% in January, after December's 5.8% increase. The lobby said that the battery electric car market share reached 19.3%, highlighting the continued potential for further growth. Data showed that the new car registrations in Germany and France dipped 6.6% each while Italy reported an increase of 6.2% and Spain registered a rise of 1.1%.
