Energy Preview: WTI crude oil lingers under $60 per barrel mark

20-Jan-2026 | 09:23

WTI crude oil futures continue to linger under $60 per barrel mark on Tuesday morning in Asia. The counter is trading at a one-week low at $59.31 per barrel. US President Donald Trump reportedly seems to have stepped back from earlier threats of intervention in Iran, reducing the likelihood of a US attack and easing concerns about supply disruption from a major oil producer and in turn, acting as a tailwind for crude oil prices. However, heightened geopolitical uncertainties and worries of a trade war between the US and Europe continues to weigh on investors' sentiment.
