20-Jan-2026 | 09:01

Precious metals continue to surge on Tuesday morning in Asia amid renewed geopolitical tensions that boost safe haven metals. US President Donald Trump announcement to impose new tariffs on goods from eight European countries fueled concerns about a broader trade war and boosted traditional safe-haven assets. COMEX gold hit fresh all time highs and is quoting at $4676.40 an ounce, up 1.76% on the day. Meanwhile, silver futures continued to extend sharp upside, up almost 5% on the day at $92.95 an ounce.
