The US natural gas inventories rose by 33 billion cubic feet to 3,915 Bcf during the week ended October 31, pushing storage 162 Bcf or 4.3% above the five-year average, the EIA noted. The increase in underground storage was the smallest since the third week of August as the injection season winds down and colder weather starts, pushing up demand. The increase is below the 42 Bcf five-year average for the week though.
