South Africa?s gross forex reserves climbed to an all-time high of $71.55 billion in October 2025, up from $69.74 billion in September. The rise was driven by higher foreign currency reserves at $48.84 billion and gold reserves at $16.21 billion. Meanwhile, SDR holdings dipped slightly to $6.50 billion, and the forward position dropped sharply to $0.60 billion from $1.18 billion.
