South Korea's economy recorded its fastest growth in one-and-a-half years in the third quarter on robust consumption and exports. Gross domestic product rose 1.2% from a quarter ago, advance estimate from the Bank of Korea showed on Tuesday. This followed second quarter's 0.7% expansion. Data showed that private consumption edged up 1.3% while government spending rose 1.2%. On a yearly basis, GDP growth accelerated to 1.7% from 0.6% in the second quarter.
