Copper down half a percent

COMEX Copper futures dipped today amid weak equities but are up around 2% for the week. The metal currently trades at $4.97 per pound, down half a percent on the day. Equities fell across the board. In Asia, Chinese and Hong Kong shares fell sharply on trade tensions. China's Shanghai Composite index slumped 2% while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index plummeted 2.48%. European stocks lost heavily with major indices falling between 1-2%. US markets tumbled amid renewed loan concerns and weak manufacturing data.
