Economic Buzz: UK job growth slows to four-month low

Employment in the UK rose by 91,000 in the three months to August 2025, the weakest gain in four months after a 232,000 increase in the previous period. The employment rate for this age group slipped by 0.2 points to 75.1%. Year-on-year, jobs rose by 473,000, while the number of people holding second jobs edged down in the quarter but climbed annually to 1.323 million, or 3.86% of total employment.
