Silver sizzles, breaks above $44 mark as bullion counters soar on geopolitical worries

COMEX Silver futures saw sweltering gains today as precious metals were well supported at the start of the week. Nato forces intercepted three Russian MiG-31 fighters on Friday after they entered Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland while Russia has issued a denial about it. COMEX Silver futures spiked 2.54% to a fresh 14- year high above $44 per ounce today. The metal currently trades at $44.06 per ounce, up 2.57% on the day. COMEX Gold is up 1.21% at $3750 per ounce.
