Economic Buzz: US consumer price inflation up 2.7% on year in Jul-25

The Consumer Price Index rose 2.7 percent from a year ago, in line with last month?s annual increase. Data showed that underlying inflation, tracked by a ?core? measure that strips out volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.3 percent over the course of the month, or 3.1 percent on a year-over-year basis.
