Incorporated in 1972, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited is one of the leading pharma companies in India. It is a flagship company of the Torrent Group. The company is listed among the leaders in the therapeutic segment of Central Nervous System (CNS), Cardiovascular (CV), Vitamins Minerals Nutrients (VMN), Gastrointestinal (GI),  Anti-diabetes (AD), Gynaecology, Dermatology and Pain.  In 1980, the company set up their first manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad. In May 1994, the company released its IPO. Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd started expanding its business, and in 1998, it gained complete control of Pharma-related investments and the business of Torrent Exports Limited.  Since its inception, the company gained complete control of several companies, including Heumann Pharma from Pfizer, Elder Pharmaceuticals Limited's India and Nepal Business, Zyg Pharma Private Limited, Unichem’s India and Nepal Business, Novartis Women Healthcare Brands and Curatio Health Care (I) Private Limited, which helped in strengthening the company’s position in the Indian Pharma market.   The company has a presence in 40 countries in the world, including India, the USA, Brazil, Germany, etc. They have 7 manufacturing facilities in India and 1 Research and Development Facility in Gujarat. As of March 2023, the company had 644 approved patents for new API and formulation techniques for different geographies. They have more than 600 medical representatives and over 9,000 distributors.

  • Therapeutic Segments:Under this segment, the company delivers various pharmaceutical products for a wide range of areas, including Cardiovascular, Diabetology, Gastrointestinal, Pain Management and Anti-Infective. Some of the brands under this segment include Orlica 60, Nikoran, Lopamide, Ahaglow S Facewash, etc.
  • Other Segments:The company also delivers products for other treatments, such as Oncology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Pediatric and Gynecology. The brands include Herwont Kit, Lymphtor, etc.

  • Zao Torrent Pharma:This is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the organization that is involved in the distribution of prescription drugs.
  • Torrent Pharma Inc:This wholly-owned subsidiary of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited that takes care of the organization’s operations in the USA.
  • Heunet Pharma GmbH: This wholly-owned subsidiary of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited that markets and sells pharma products in Germany.
