History

Syrma SGS Technology Ltd came into existence as as Syrma Technology Pvt Ltd on August 23, 2004. It has 3 R&D facilities, 2 of which are located in India at Chennai and Gurgaon, and 1 in Stuttgart, Germany. In 2006, the company set up its manufacturing unit in MEPZ-SEZ, Chennai. In 2007, it designed and manufactured direct digital dental X-ray FGPA controllers for application in the healthcare industry. In the same year, it began catering to the automotive industry with the manufacture of hall sensor printed circuit board assembly or PCBA. In 2008, it manufactured set-top boxes to explore the home entertainment industry. It also got into the manufacturing of GSM antenna in order to develop 3G technology in India. In 2009, the company made a strategic entry into into the manufacturing of vehicle tracking systems as well as toll management systems. In 2014, it set up its first R&D department in India. That year, it also progressed into the manufacturing of PCBAs for X-ray machines. It further proceeded to manufacture energy-efficient electronic inverters and home appliance control PCBAs. In 2015, it further proceeded in the manufacturing of controller units for air conditioners. Thereafter, PCBAs for smart canes for visually challenged people were also designed and manufactured. In April 2016, 3G Communication Private Limited merged with the company, and thereafter, the company began producing RFID tags. The company was listed on August 26, 2022.

The company offers the following types of services:

1. Engineering and Technology Services- SETS (SyrmaSGS Tech and Engineering Services) delivers Engineering Services and Technology Innovation for customers to build Connected, Digital, Electric, Green, and Smart products in the Mobility, Hi-Tech, Industrial and Medical verticals.
2. PCB Assembly- They provide printed circuit board (PCB) assembly from their multiple manufacturing facilities.
3. Box Build- They provide complete box build, electromechanical assembly and full-systems integration services, including firmware, software loading, validation, testing and commercial or custom packing.
4. End-of-Line Tester Development- They offer in-house end-of-line tester development services. We design and assemble customised Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) based on customer’s test requirements.

The company also produces RFID and magnetics. They serve customers globally and across various industries such as automotive, consumer products, healthcare, industrial appliances, IT and railways. Subsidiaries The company has 6 subsidiaries, some of which include:

1. SGS Tekniks Manufacturing Private Limited- It is a wholly-owned subsidiary that performs electronics contract manufacturing.
2. Perfect ID India Private Limited- It is a wholly-owned subsidiary that is a global designer and manufacturer of RFID tags.
3. Syrma SGS Design and Manufacturing Limited- It is a wholly-owned subsidiary that offers design and manufacturing services for electronics.

Mr Jasbir Singh Gujral, Managing Director Mr Gujral has nearly 4 decades of experience in the electronics manufacturing sector. He is among the founding promoters of SGS Tekniks Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, i.e. a wholly-owned subsidiary of SYRMA SGS. He has earlier been associated with companies like Metro Milk Products Ltd, Eltek Sgs Pvt Ltd, SGS Tekniks Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, and Valere Power India Pvt Ltd.
