About Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd
Sona BLW Precision Forgings is engaged in designing, manufacturing and supplying engineered automotive systems and components such as differential assemblies, gears, conventional and micro-hybrid motors, BSG systems and EV Traction motors across all vehicle categories. ·
The company came into existence as as Sona Okegawa Precision Forgings Ltd in 1995, a JV with Mitsubishi Metal Corporation Limited. It started production of differential bevel gears at its first plant in Gurugram, Haryana, in 1998.
In 2005, the company launched a manufacturing plant in Pune, Maharashtra, India. In addition, Sona Autocomp Holding Private Limited became a majority shareholder in the company. In 2013, the company changed its name to “Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited". It launched its final assembly and finishing plant in Tecumseh, MI, USA, during the same year.
In 2017, it commenced operations at two new plants, Unit II & Unit III, located in Gurugram, Haryana, India. The company gained complete control of Comstar Entities in 2019 and started operations at its new differential assembly plant located in Manesar, Haryana, during the same year. In 2021, the company went public and listed on BSE and NSE after an IPO.
Business Segments
- Driveline Segment:Under this segment, it manufactures differential assemblies and precision-forged differential bevel gears for both electrified and non-electrified PVs, CVs, OHVs, and 3Ws.
- Motors Segment:It manufactures conventional and micro-hybrid starter motors for PVs and LCVs, EV traction motors and motor control units for hybrid and e-PVs, hybrid and e-LCVs, e-2Ws and e3Ws under this segment.

Vivek Vikram Singh, MD & Group CEO, Sona Comstar Vivek Vikram Singh is the Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of the company. He has over 18 years of experience, including eight years in the automotive industry. He is responsible for capital allocation, strategic decisions for growth (both organic and inorganic), business development, managing financial stakeholders, and performance monitoring of individual business units of the company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in technology in computer science and engineering from HBTI Kanpur and a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM Ahmedabad.Corporate Actions
