North Eastern carrying corporation was formally created and deployed as a legal entity as a private limited company in the name of Prakarima Leasing Private Limited, on 5th day of December 1984 and become a public limited company on 16th day of December 1985. Further, The Company had changed its name to N.E.C.C. Finlease Limited on 30th December, 1994.

To expand and diversify its businesses, Company merged the Paras Parivahan Private Limited on 18th October, 1997 and broadened its footprint operations into into Transportation business on 28th April, 1999. Further, The company changed its name from N.E.C.C Finlease Limited to North Eastern Carrying Corporation Limited, to reflect its main business. It has also merged North Eastern Carrying Corporation (a Partnership firm) on 1st April, 2000.
