National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) is engaged in the production and marketing of Neem Coated Urea, Bio-Fertilizers (solid & liquid) and other allied Industrial products. NFL is a Schedule ‘A’ & a Mini Ratna (Category-I) Company, having its registered office in New Delhi. It came into existence as on August 23, 1974. The company was listed on BSE and NSE in 2001 after an Initial Public Offering (IPO). It signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Central Government for 32.25 lakh tonne production in 2001-02. The company forayed into the business of power generation in 2010 In 2016, the NFL placed the foundation stone of the Bentonite Sulphur Plant at Panipat. This was the first Bentonite Sulphur Plant in the country in Public Sector. The company recorded the best-ever urea production in the third quarter of 2021. In 2022, the company won the GOLD Award under Apex India Occupational Health and Safety. During the same year, it received the Grow Care India Training Excellence Award-2022 under the HR Category. As of November 2023, the company operates 5 gas-based ammonia urea plants viz. Nangal & Bathinda plants in Punjab, Panipat plant in Haryana and 2 plants at Vijaipur at District Guna, in Madhya Pradesh.

Business Segments

• Urea and Other Fertilisers:Under this segment, the organization produces high-quality Urea and other fertilisers. During FY 2023, it witnessed the highest-ever Urea production of 39.35 LMT with an overall capacity utilisation of 121.81%.
• Industrial Products:NFL is engaged in the manufacturing of various chemicals such as nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, etc. It recorded a growth in the sale of Nitric Acid to 81,108 MT against 64,008 MT in FY 2022.
• Bio-Fertilizers:The organization produces three types of bio-fertilizers in both powder and liquid bases i.e. Rhizobium, Azectobactor and PSB.
• Imports & Trading:The organization is also involved in the import and trading enterprise apart from manufacturing. Under this segment, it deals in various agro-inputs like Non-Urea Fertilizers, Certified Seeds, Agrochemicals, Bentonite Sulphur, and City Compost through its existing PAN India dealer’s network under single window concept.

• in addition, the organization would be core priorityed on the production of new products like agro-chemicals, water-soluble fertilizers, micronutrients, zinc solubilising bio-fertilizers, AdBlue, etc.
