_x000D_ Uday Kotak established Kotak Capital Management Finance, an investment and financial services company, in 1985. To get the company off the ground, he secured a loan of ₹30 lakh from his family and friends. The following year, in 1986, Anand Mahindra and his father, Harish Mahindra, made an investment of ₹1 lakh in the company. This significant infusion of funds prompted a renaming of the company to Kotak Mahindra Finance._x000D_ _x000D_ Kotak Mahindra Bank is an Indian private sector bank headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was founded in February 2003, when Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. (KMFL), the Group’s flagship company, received a banking license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It became the first non-banking finance company in India to convert into a bank. The bank was initially engaged in bill discounting, along with lease and hire purchase activities.
