In December 17, 1981, the name of the company was changed from Modern Nets Ltd to Garware Marine Industries Ltd.

During the year 2005-06, the company increased the production capacity of Fish Knitted Fabrics from 256 MT to 384 MT. During the year 2007-08, the company installed three new net making machines at the Ahmednagar plant. In July 2008, they commissioned all the machines and started commercial production.

The company has decided to new more machines in the factory. They have ordered new machines from Japan. These machines are expected to commence their operations during the financial year 2009-10.
