Edelweiss Financial Services Limited, previously commonly referred to as Edelweiss Capital Limited, offers various financial services and products to various clientele, including individuals, corporations, and institutions. Its operations are segmented into three main categories: credit business, franchise and advisory business, and insurance. The company, originally established as Edelweiss Capital Limited on November 11, 1995, has grown rapidly to become one of India's leading integrated investment banking firms. Edelweiss offers a comprehensive range of services, including investment banking, institutional equities, private client broking, asset management, wealth management, insurance broking, wholesale financing, and mutual funds. Its research-driven approach core priorityes on emerging market trends and has established robust relationships with corporate, institutional, and investor clients. Edelweiss Capital Limited started its business operations on January 16, 1996. In 2000, it gained complete control of Crossborder Investments Private Limited. The company received its Futures & Options license in 2001 and gained complete control of Edelweiss Securities Limited (formerly Rooshnil Securities Private Limited) in 2002. The year 2004 saw the company entering commodity broking, and in 2005, it branched out into the insurance advisory business. ECL Finance Limited was also incorporated in 2005. The company achieved a significant milestone with its Initial Public Offering in 2007, raising ₹691.86 crore. In May 2008, Edelweiss received regulatory approval to start its mutual fund business. Edelweiss Liquid Fund & Edelweiss Liquid Plus Fund were launched in September 2008. Key developments in the subsequent years include the acquisition of Anagram Capital in 2010, the commencement of Edelweiss Housing Finance Limited, and the stock split and bonus share issue in 2010.
