Incorporated in 1961, Schrader Duncan, a J P Goenka group company, was formed in collaboration with Scovill Manufacturing Company, US, and the well-known agency house of Duncan Brothers & Co. The company manufactures tyre-tube valves (1.6 cr pa), spark plug tyre pumps (2.5 cr pa), hydraulic and pneumatic equipment (4.25 cr pa), spark plug tyre pumps and other allied products for passenger cars and commercial vehicles at its plant in Mulund, Bombay.

In 1992, after the transfer of shares held by Scovill to Schrader Automotive, US, the company was renamed Schreder Duncan from the erstwhile Schrader-Scovill Duncan. Schrader, US, holds a 50% equity stake in the company.

The Company's subsidiary, Associated Polymers, is in the business of processing of all kinds of rubber, PVC, polythylene and other substitutes to it's Customers specifications. Apart from mixing rubber for its parent company the Associated Rubbers has it's capacity (total capacity of the company is 1800 tpa.) dedicated to a customer for mixing Butyl Rubber.

Company has diversified into new product, such as Natural Rubber Valves and Patches.

The company has obtained ISO 9002 certification for its automotive and pneumatics divisions from Det Norske Veritas (DNV). In 1999-2000 Schrader's pneumatic division formally introduced new products viz ISO cylinders, high flow valves and accessories. Its automotive division successfully engineered closing valve assemblies for pressure monitoring and other such products for application outside the tyre industry. The expansion and diversification of Tyre Tube Valves division is expected to be commissioned in the fag end of the current financial year(2002-03).
