Journey of DCB Bank Limited
Established in 1930, DCB Bank Limited is a new-generation private sector bank in India. DCB Bank is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In 1930, the Ismailia Co-operative Bank Limited and the Masalawala Co-operative Bank Limited were established. Over time, Diamond Jubilee Co-operative Bank Limited merged with Ismailia Co-operative Bank Limited, which later amalgamated with Masalawala Co-operative Bank Limited in 1981, leading to the formation of the Development Co-operative Bank Limited. Citi Cooperative Bank Limited merged with Development Co-operative Bank Limited. On May 31, 1995, the combined entity was transformed into a joint-stock banking company commonly referred to as Development Credit Bank Limited. In 1990, the bank was converted into a scheduled commercial bank, and since then, they have opened several branches in Karnataka, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Delhi, etc. In February 2004, the bank released its IPO. In 2010, they opened two rural branches in Gujarat. By 2011, they opened their 81st branch in India. In 2012, Development Credit Bank Limited, with ITZ Cash, launched the Freedom Prepaid Card. In 2014, the bank changed its name to DCB Bank. In 2016, the bank launched Aadhaar-enabled ATMs in Bangalore and in 2018, they started online services to transfer money worldwide. As of September 2023, the bank has 439 branches across the country. They have a customer base of approximately 1 million.Business Segments of DCB Bank Limited
The primary business segments of the bank are as follows:- Retail:Under this segment, the bank delivers retail banking services to individuals, such as loans, debit cards, travel cards, fixed deposits, accounts, etc. The bank delivers an online fixed-deposit account for customers called DCB Zippi Online Fixed Deposit. This online account helps customers to open a fixed deposit account online using Aadhaar and PAN cards.
- Micro-SME:This segment caters to the customers of the micro-SME sector. They offer loans and other financial services.
- SME:Under this segment, the bank offers loans and other financial services to SME customers.
- Mid-Corporate:Mid-corporate customers can avail financial services under this segment.
- Agriculture:In this segment, the bank offers loans to farmers and customers in the agricultural sector.
- Insurance and Investment:Under this category, the bank offers life and general insurance services and investments, such as mutual funds, Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGB), etc.
