Cholamandalam Financial Holdings Limited (CFHL) is a part of the Murugappa Group. It is a core investment company registered with the RBI, bringing forth a diverse range of financial products and risk management services to individual and corporate customers through its group companies. It came into existence as in 1949 as TI Financial Holdings Limited, one of the most diversified business conglomerates in India. During the same year, the business was demerged. As a result, the company's manufacturing business was transferred to a separate company, and the company retained its finance business. In 1991, Sathavahana Chains Ltd (SCL) was amalgamated with the company. In 2002, Cholamandalam General Insurance Co. became a subsidiary of Tube Investments. As of March 31, 2023, the total AUM of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited crossed ₹1 Lakh crore mark. It achieved the highest-ever disbursement of ₹66,532 crore and gained market share across the product segments in Vehicle Finance and other business units.

• NBFC:The Co. offers financial services through its subsidiary, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (CIFCL), by bringing forth vehicle finance, home loans, loans against property, etc, to a wide range of customers.
• General Insurance:The Co. delivers a wide range of insurance, including motor, travel, health, accident, home, and other types of insurance for corporate customers through its subsidiary Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Limited (CMSGICL).
• Risk Management & Engineering Solutions:The Co. offers risk management and engineering solutions in the field of Safety, Health, and Environment through its Joint Venture with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, Japan, through Cholamandalam MS Risk Services Ltd (CMSRSL).

Subsidiary

• Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (CIFCL):As of March 31, 2023, the company holds 45.36% of CIFCL. It is a non-banking finance company involved in the lending business. It delivers vehicle finance, home loans, loans against property, SME loans, secured business and personal loans (SBPL), consumer & small enterprises loans (CSEL) and various other financial services to customers.
• Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Limited (CMSGICL):This subsidiary is a joint venture with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Ltd., Japan and is a material subsidiary of the company. It is involved in the general insurance business. It delivers a wide range of insurance products, including Motor, Health, Property, Accident, Engineering, Liability, Marine, Travel and Crop insurance for individuals and corporations.

Key Personnel

Mr. M M Murugappan, Chairman & Non-Executive Director Mr. M M Murugappan is the company's current Chairman and Non-Executive Director. He formerly held the role of CUMI's Managing Director. He is on the boards of numerous businesses, including IIT Madras Research Park, Cyient Limited, Ambadi Investments Limited, and Murugappa Organo Water Solutions Private Limited, in addition to holding the positions of Chairman of CUMI, Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Limited, and Cholamandalam Financial Holdings Limited. In addition to being a member of the Plastics & Rubber Institute, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Mr. Murugappan was elected as a fellow of the Indian Ceramic Society. In addition, he serves on the IIT Madras Board of Governors. Mr Murugappan is a graduate of the University of Michigan in the United States with a Master's in Chemical Engineering.
