History

Aarti Surfactants Limited, earlier commonly referred to as Arti Surfactants Ltd, came into existence as on June 18, 2018. The company is a major supplier of speciality surfactants and other chemicals. The company manufactures over 30 innovative and eco-friendly surfactants processed with high-quality materials. The company has 2 manufacturing facilities, one in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, and the other at Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. These manufacturing plants possess the ISO 9001:2008 quality certification. In 2019, the Home and Personal Care Division of Aarti Industries Limited was transferred to Aarti Surfactants Limited. In July 2020, the company was listed on the BSE and the NSE.

Business Segments

In terms of application, the company has the following product categories:

1. Surfactants- Surfactants are chemicals that reduce the surface tension between a liquid and other material, including air or other liquids. Surfactant products of Aarti Surfactants include Sulfoccinate, Sulfodet, Sulfosmo, Sulfolon, and Sulfotain variants.
2. Pearlising Agents- These are chemicals used in body washes. Products include variants of Sulfoshine.
3. Blends- These include variants of Sulfoshine, Sulfocare, and Sulfowash.
4. Preservatives- This includes variants of Sulfonon PE.
5. Mild Surfactants- These include Sulfoccinate LES and Sulfoccinate LSS.

In terms of industries of end use, the company has the following business segments:

1. Baby Care- Products in this category include Sulfoccinate LES and Sulfoccinate LSS, both of which are used as a part of personal care or home care formulations.
2. Home Care- This category has a wide range of products such as Sulfolon, Sulfodet, Sulfotain, etc. While Sulfolon is a high-foaming surfactant used in personal care and home care formulations, Sulfodet is used in shampoo, detergents, agrochemicals, construction, polymers, fire-fighting foam, etc.
3. Oral Care- This segment comprises variants of Sulfolon and Sulfotain only.
4. Hair Care- This segment comprises variants of Sulfoshine, Sulfocat, Sulfomine, etc. While Sulfoshine is used in shampoo and soap as an opacifier and pearlising agent, Sulfocat is used as a biocide, germicidal, and disinfectant.
5. Industrial Application- This segment also comprises different variants of Sulfolon, Sulfodet, Sulfoccinate, Sulfotain, etc. used in industries such as agriculture and oil and gas.
6. Skin and Personal Care- This includes variants of Sulfolon, Sulfocat, Sulfotain, etc.

In FY 2022, 70% of its revenue came from domestic sources, while 30% came from international sources. Subsidiaries As of March 31, 2023, the company has 1 direct subsidiary, viz. Aarti HPC Ltd.

Mr. Mulesh Manilal Savla, Chairman and Independent Director Mr Savla is a practising Chartered Accountant and also a Founder-Partner of Shah & Savla LLP, a chartered accountancy firm. He has an experience of over 35 years in the fields of taxation, auditing, accounting, finance, and restructuring of entities.
