China's crude imports edged up 0.8% from the previous year in August 2025. Data from the General Administration of Customs recently showed that the world's biggest crude importer imported 49.49 million metric tons of oil in August. This is equivalent to 11,65 million barrels of crude per day. The volume of crude imported in August was up 4.9% compared to 47.2 million metric tons in July. Customs data shows that total crude oil imports between January and August were 376.05 million tons or 11.3million bpd. This is an increase of 2.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.
