The American Petroleum Institute (API) estimated that crude oil inventories in the United States rose by 1.25 million barrels in the week ending August 29. Gasoline inventories rose by 329,000 barrels in the week ending September 5, after falling by 4.577 million barrels in the week prior. Distillate inventories rose significantly for the second week in a row, adding 1.5 million barrels, after rising by 3.687 million barrels in the week prior.
