Australia?s Westpac-Melbourne Institute Consumer Sentiment Index dropped 3.1% month-over-month to 95.4 in September 2025, reversing August?s 5.7% rise. The decline was driven by growing concerns over the interest rate outlook, despite some relief from the easing cost-of-living crisis and monetary policy support. The 12-month economic outlook fell 8.9% to 92.2, while the 5-year outlook slipped 5.9% to 92.7.
