Household spending in Australia rose 0.5% month-on-month in July 2025, quickening from June?s revised 0.3% and marking the third straight monthly gain. Growth was boosted by stronger expenditure on miscellaneous goods and services which rose 1.5%, health which climbed 1.8%, transport up 1.5%, and dining out which gained 1.4%. However, spending dipped on food by 0.1%, alcohol by 1.9%, clothing by 1.2%, and furnishings by 1.4%. On an annual basis, household spending surged 5.1%, the fastest pace since November 2023.
